Cellulite, an eternal enemy! Or maybe not;

What about cellulite? What is the reason and how can the so-called "orange peel" appearance that concerns most women, regardless of age and body type, be treated? But let's start from the beginning:
Why is it called "orange peel"?
The skin is divided into three levels: the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue. Cellulite is the deposition of water and fat between the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Because women have thinner layers of skin and skin than men, they are more often faced with the deposition of padded fat cells in various parts of the body, from the thighs and buttocks to the stomach, abdomen and arms. This is because the body does not dispose of its waste properly. Due to poor local perfusion, instead of burning fat, it sends it to the fat cells that need it most. Thus, piles of fat and water are created in various parts of the tissue, which increase in volume and compress the vessels. The skin loses its elasticity and its image in these areas looks like orange peel.
How many types of cellulite are there?
Although its most common form is the appearance of "orange peel", there is not just one type of cellulite. Sometimes it is confused with stretch marks, because it creates lines on the skin that look like wrinkles.
It is divided into three types, depending on the size of the problem:
- In "loose" cellulite, which is felt when we pinch the skin with our fingers
- The "edematous", which is visible only when the patient is standing upright
- The "solid" cellulite, which is in an advanced stage, since the aesthetic problem is evident either in standing or lying position.
What are the causes of cellulite?
It can be due to various factors, from hereditary and hormonal, to pathological (such as endocrine disorders or other medical conditions.)
Other causes may be:
- The fluctuation of body weight
- Sedentary lifestyle combined with smoking and lack of exercise
- Poor diet
- Alcohol consumption
- Uncontrollable stress
In general, this is such a complex problem, that in some cases the causes of its occurrence are unclear. Also, although women over 30 are more prone to cellulite (due to lifestyle changes from a certain age onwards) it can occur even in a young person, a shapely woman or even a man (usually after a sudden weight fluctuation. )
Cellulite does not know by gender, weight or age, since (according to a study) "will knock on the door" in 90% of women. After all, weight has little to do with the appearance of "orange peel".
On the one hand, women with a tendency to store fat in the hip area are more likely to develop cellulite than a woman without accumulated fat. On the other hand, it is understandable that women with a low percentage of fat rarely face this problem. In general, the less subcutaneous fat a woman has, the less obvious cellulite will be. However, in some cases, weight loss involves the relaxation of the skin, which favors its appearance. Thus, it is easy to say that while stored fat is inextricably linked to cellulite, it is by no means the cause.
How can we fight it?
Cellulite is a structural problem and can therefore be reduced or even avoided if one adopts a quality lifestyle early on.
In particular, fiber, water consumption, green tea, proteins (such as salmon, nuts, egg whites), fruits and vegetables (especially apple, bilberry and broccoli) are sworn enemies of cellulite. . On the other hand, processed foods, the consumption of alcohol, caffeine and soft drinks, combined with smoking and lack of exercise, are its biggest allies!
In terms of exercise, new studies have shown that high-intensity interval training - intense aerobic exercise, that is, with breaks between relaxed exercise - helps fight cellulite and strengthen the body. At the same time, it increases metabolism and therefore fat burning. Retinol products and special creams help the condition to some extent, as they help to make cellulite less visible, but the truth is that they have more spectacular results if combined with non-surgical methods to fight cellulite. Such are the following:
- Lymphatic decongestion: Lymphatic massage effectively treats cellulite. It acts by decongesting the lymph, thus contributing to the elimination of toxins from the body.

Is only sex to blame?
